Could organizing a day schedule actually save me money?

Published by sbrockett2005 at 3:24 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

My thought for today was if having an actual schedule of events during the day would save me money.  My conclusion is yes.  I do realize not everyone is lucky enough to be able to stay home, however, for those of us who are able to stay home, I realized that I was spending money foolishly when I don’t have a “tentative” schedule in mind for the day.  For example, today I was dreading having to go to the store to buy packing tape to send my used books back, however, my husband doubled checked a couple places and found the tape for me.  Though, the tape is cheap, I know that I would have bought more things at the store if I would have gone.  I am somewhat of an impulse buyer at times.  So then being home, I got a lot accomplished.  I then had to go pick up my son from preschool.  We had made deal yesterday that if he was good, he could get a movie.  So we went to the movie store and to my surprise picked out an older movie which saved me $2 there.  Since we were out and about I thought about going to McDonald’s to get $1 ice tea, however, both of my boys wanted to come home so that is what we did.  Love them because not only did I not buy the ice tea, I was saved from buying fries.  (I can’t resist those fries; it is a major weakness.)

So I have come to the conclusion that if I plan my day with a “tentative” schedule, I end up saving money in the long run.  How cool is that!!!
