Generic versus Name Brand Food
This is a topic that my mother and I discuss quite often. We both like to save money, however, we don’t like to budge on our taste either. I have to admit that in just the past 5 years, generic or store brands have come along way. However, there are certain things that I just won’t budge on because of flavor or satisfying my taste buds.
A person really needs to look at the ingredients listed for a particular item. Most of the time, the store/generic brand is usually made with the same ingredients of the name brand food. For example, I love JIF peanut butter! But after a long search of trying out different generic brands, I have found that Kroger makes their peanut butter almost exactly like JIF and it tastes just the same, but costs less.
So next time you are at the grocery store and have the choice between generic or name brand, look at the ingredients and I bet you be surprised!
